It's the Little Things

The saying goes "it's the little things..." and really, it is.


It's two people's hands barely brushing against each other.
It's a smile.
It's the sun shining and the rain.
It's reading a good book.
It's a view that cannot possibly be captured by a camera.
It's laughter.
It's a hug.


It's all the little things that make the general experience of life worth every moment you have. 


So, now that I am done reflecting a little.
Packing for a LARP Weekend. Hitting up Queen of Hearts 20. It should be a great time. I am actually looking forward to a lot of different parts. Mostly, I am looking forward to kicking ass on the front line.
I'm hoping to catch some of the weekend through Glass. But, I will be fighting... so... it may be hard. I am really scared to break them... again.

Yes... AGAIN.
Granted, Google's tech service was right on the ball and got me a new unit almost immediately... I do not want to go through that again.

Still, I hope to capture some of the weekend. I'll figure something out.

And...On that note...  I should get some work done. So... here is a Unicorn.

The Grey Lady

For FolkeWood questing, I was tasked by Neil with creating a living statue costume. And by tasked, I mean I jumped at the chance to do it. So, how did it all come together? Well, it was weeks of research, planning, and execution with the aid of several people. I feel that the Realms would benefit from knowing how things were made when it comes to big costumes and props. I also hope that with this, we can up our costuming game. Let’s start with the dress. We knew the look we were going for was pseudo Greek. I scoured Halloween costumes for the right piece. I found this : As you can see, it is not in the least bit grey, nor was it in any way stiff. With help from Jana “Jynx” Greene and a little more research we found that the next step was to cover the whole dress in Liquid Latex. Jana found the Rub-R-Mold Liquid Latex. Idaho! The Zen of Losing

Well Blog-o-verse, we knew when I started this thing I was bad at updates. Luckily we have had some adventures, so I have something to write about (finally). NH Roller Derby sent the All Stars team to Idaho for the 5th annual Spudtown Knockdown tournament. We went in with high hopes of taking at least one win and having close games, but that was just not to be. We experienced something teams have happen all the time; The Blow Out. Yep, we lost and we lost hard with each game. But, while losing, something wonderful happened. I have been on the All Stars team off and on since 2008 (2013 and 2014, I declined the opportunity to try out). For the first time (that I can remember) not a single person gave up on our bench, no one was blamed or shamed, everyone was given a chance to play and show their worth, every skater smiled and pushed hard, and no one was angry at the rest of the team.
