A week with Glass already?
Yesiree. It has been a whole week! (Well, a whole week as of 2:05pm. Semantics!)

A few people even wanted to try them on. And so, there are a lot of pictures of me from this weekend.

Out and about in public, most folks looked twice but then ignored me. Very few people asked what I had on my head. Come to think of it, only the waitress at the diner we went to Saturday asked. (Delicious, by the way. If you are every in Northwood, NH... go here. Amazing!)
So, all in all I had positive reactions.

So, what did I do with my weekend?
Friday night I had Cherry Bombs practice. I took a few videos just skating. It appears I lost the one with my teammate Deckerson... so, here is one of just me skating around (hope this video works!)

I went to a Realms event (threw one, really) and marshaled. I took photos and videos with Glass, and I tried to work around Sprint's Bull Shit tethering crap (f*&k you Sprint).

Here are my overall observations.

With Sprint being dicks about their Hot Spot and tethering plan/policies I was unable to access Email, reply to texts (I could receive them), or use the navigation with my Glass.

Lucky for me I have an amazing hubby who turned on his Hot Spot on his Verizon phone so I could upload a photo or three to Google Plus as well as demo some features of glass.

Phone calls on Glass are extremely hard to hear. The bone conduction is great, but there is zero volume control and if it is not sitting 'just right', you might as well hang up.
Voice to text is pretty accurate, though. Or hilarious.

I hope top play with the navigation soon (as soon as I figure out how to bypass SprintDick).

So, tomorrow I finally get the Motorcycle back from the shop. That means Motorcycle videos will happen soon!
I hope to keep up with once a week updates. That way I do not burn out, and you don't think I am some blogging freak.
Anyway... this seems appropriate... Let the Adventure Begin!!

    Yay! I'm in the blog! And it looks like my arm belongs to someone else!

    There's a bit of odd distortion on close subjects, but shots from further away don't seem to have it. Can't wait to see more :D

The Grey Lady

For FolkeWood questing, I was tasked by Neil with creating a living statue costume. And by tasked, I mean I jumped at the chance to do it. So, how did it all come together? Well, it was weeks of research, planning, and execution with the aid of several people. I feel that the Realms would benefit from knowing how things were made when it comes to big costumes and props. I also hope that with this, we can up our costuming game. Let’s start with the dress. We knew the look we were going for was pseudo Greek. I scoured Halloween costumes for the right piece. I found this : As you can see, it is not in the least bit grey, nor was it in any way stiff. Idaho! The Zen of Losing

Well Blog-o-verse, we knew when I started this thing I was bad at updates. Luckily we have had some adventures, so I have something to write about (finally). NH Roller Derby sent the All Stars team to Idaho for the 5th annual Spudtown Knockdown tournament. We went in with high hopes of taking at least one win and having close games, but that was just not to be. We experienced something teams have happen all the time; The Blow Out. Yep, we lost and we lost hard with each game. But, while losing, something wonderful happened. I have been on the All Stars team off and on since 2008 (2013 and 2014, I declined the opportunity to try out). For the first time (that I can remember) not a single person gave up on our bench, no one was blamed or shamed, everyone was given a chance to play and show their worth, every skater smiled and pushed hard, and no one was angry at the rest of the team.
