Another Week Gone By!

Saturday the 13th I was witness to a beautiful and wonderful occasion. My dears friends and former league mates tied the knot! It was an amazing ceremony. One of the brides, Gina, was floored to find out that Trina and I had skipped a Cherry Bombs bout to attend.

Of course I skipped!!! Do you see that picture? Do you see the ones below?! Wouldn't have missed it for all the roller derby ever!!!
The energy was perfect. The day was sunny, warm, and just right.
 They both glowed.

It was great to spend so much time with such wonderful friends and to see Brenda and Gina get hitched. I wish them a long and happy life together. They deserve it and I was honored to be a guest!


Sunday the Mr and I went on a nice long ride with some friends. We rode out to Curtis' BBQ in VT with May B Knotty, Woody Yankabitch and Mrs. Yankabitch (Jo) as well as May's friend.

It was a great Sunday.

Monday rolled around and UPS Came by the house with my new Glass Unit! WOO!
I have yet to name her. We aren't close enough for that yet. But, the adventures will not commence!

She went for a motorcycle ride. So, here is that!  (Sorry, I could not get the video to upload... LAME!) It was great to just putter around and record. It was interesting to do it, too. I need better glasses/goggles for it. And definitely no highway riding.

Also, I started my "summer schedule" with my niece. I have been helping her achieve her Gymnastics dreams. She was not amused with Glass:

And that is about it to be honest.
Tonight the Mr and I pack for some more Adventures. We are staffing an event called Pressure Point-Flashback. It should be an amazing time, I cannot wait.
Yep, more glass adventures to come.

The Grey Lady

For FolkeWood questing, I was tasked by Neil with creating a living statue costume. And by tasked, I mean I jumped at the chance to do it. So, how did it all come together? Well, it was weeks of research, planning, and execution with the aid of several people. I feel that the Realms would benefit from knowing how things were made when it comes to big costumes and props. I also hope that with this, we can up our costuming game. Let’s start with the dress. We knew the look we were going for was pseudo Greek. I scoured Halloween costumes for the right piece. I found this : As you can see, it is not in the least bit grey, nor was it in any way stiff. With help from Jana “Jynx” Greene and a little more research we found that the next step was to cover the whole dress in Liquid Latex. Jana found the Rub-R-Mold Liquid Latex. Idaho! The Zen of Losing

Well Blog-o-verse, we knew when I started this thing I was bad at updates. Luckily we have had some adventures, so I have something to write about (finally). NH Roller Derby sent the All Stars team to Idaho for the 5th annual Spudtown Knockdown tournament. We went in with high hopes of taking at least one win and having close games, but that was just not to be. We experienced something teams have happen all the time; The Blow Out. Yep, we lost and we lost hard with each game. But, while losing, something wonderful happened. I have been on the All Stars team off and on since 2008 (2013 and 2014, I declined the opportunity to try out). For the first time (that I can remember) not a single person gave up on our bench, no one was blamed or shamed, everyone was given a chance to play and show their worth, every skater smiled and pushed hard, and no one was angry at the rest of the team.
